Thesis: Albert Camus expresses his philosophy of existentialism in The Stranger by contrasting the colors black and white to demonstrate the difference between society's standards and Mersault's personal desires.
Hannah, I just talked to your mom and she indicated that you were still feeling a little stuck. I suggest that you clarify how black is a symbol of society and how white isa symbol of Mersault. Once you clarify that it will be easier to look at why Camus would use colors to show that distinction. And what that distinction means thematically (other than "expresses his philosophy of existentialism"). Feel free to email me with an updated thesis before you start writing.
Don't use existentialism. And the contrast between tociety and Mersault is still too obvious. What other effects could black and white have?
